AgriSync

AgriSync is a machine learning–based system for restoring and cultivating saline-alkali soil — pairing a field device with an open-source app and web platform that calculate the precise irrigation and fertilizer each plot of land needs. It reframes soil management as something data-driven, adaptable, and open to anyone. Awards Won: - iF Design Award 2024 Winner in Professional Concepts - IDA Gold Winner in Industrial & Life Science Design - Farming - Spark Design Award Bronze in Concept Pro - Muse Design Award Gold in Industrial & Smart Technology

The project started with a post-pandemic question: COVID-19 disrupted global grain production and exposed how fragile our soil-based food systems really are. As arable land comes under growing stress, AgriSync looks at saline soil — land often written off as unusable — as an opportunity to expand what we can grow, and who gets to grow it.

Farmers install the Soilweb app and feed in local soil and crop data. A machine-learning model returns the optimal irrigation and fertilizer levels, getting sharper with every feedback loop. Because the source code and product models are open and editable, the system can be tuned to different land types and local conditions — not locked to a single region or vendor.
